Mr. Stéphane Chatigny is an associate in the firm's Immigration Law group. He specialises in advising and representing businesses and individuals in a wide range of aspects pertaining to business immigration in Canada.

Moreover, over the years, Mr. Chatigny has developed a sound expertise in civil and commercial law matters. He regularly advised and acted on behalf of high profile companies and individuals before courts in Québec, including the Court of Appeal. In 2004-2005, he acted as co-counsel to Mr. Jean Pelletier (former Chief of Staff to Rt. Honourable Prime Minister, Jean Chrétien) at the Commission of Inquiry into the Sponsorship Program and Advertising Activities.

Mr. Chatigny is a member of the Canadian Bar Association, the Bar of Québec and the Bar of Montréal.

Born in Jonquière, Québec, he obtained his law degree from Laval University in 1991 and a law degree (D.E.A.) in European Union law from Université des Sciences sociales de Toulouse (France), in 1994. He practised European business law for close to two years in Brussels (Belgium) and Luxembourg (Luxembourg).

Prior to joining Robinson Sheppard Shapiro in 2007, he was in the private practice.
