Navigate: RSS Canada Immigration Home >Educational CredentialEducational Credential is awarded for degrees, diplomas, trade certificates or apprenticeship issued on the completion of a program of study or training at an educational organization, or training institution recognized by the authorities responsible for registering, accrediting, supervising and regulating such institutions in the country of issue.Full time study is 15 hours of instruction per week during the academic year. These 15 hours can be inclusive of training within the workplace that forms part of the course of study. Points are awarded on the level of education completed and the total number of years of study.
Example:
An applicant who has completed and obtained a Master’s degree with 16 years of full time study will only be awarded 22 points for two university degrees with minimum 15 years of full-time equivalent study. The Education Credential (degree, diploma, trade certificate or apprenticeship) must be issued and submitted with the application to receive the points requested on behalf of the applicant. *If a further level of education is completed after the submission of the application but prior to the assessment of the application by Canadian Immigration the points for Educational Credential will be increased accordingly. |
