Alberta Nominee Program

The province of Alberta has instituted a stream for provincial nomination which is based on experience in the USA. Those with H1B, H1-B1, H-1C, or E-3 visas and with at least one year of experience in the USA can become eligible for fast-tracked immigration to Canada through this Provincial Nominee Program (PNP). Those who are approved do not have to meet the skilled worker pass mark. An eligible candidate's occupation must be designated by the province.

Once an applicant is selected in the PNP program, Canada’s immigration authorities are responsible for handling the assessment of medical and security admissibility. As the federal process does not have to consider the normal selection factors, the candidate’s case is fast-tracked through this stage of the Canadian immigration process. Once approved, the candidate is granted a Canadian permanent resident visa, just as with any other class of immigration application.
